MUSC Mammograms, 9:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.: The MUSC Mobile Health Unit is coming to Kiawah! Mammogram screenings are open to all and will be held at the Mobile Health Unit in the Sandcastle Community Center parking lot. Participants must be at least 35 years of age, with no prior history of breast cancer. Insurance is not necessary, but those with insurance should bring their card. MUSC will bill the provider of those patients with insurance. Appointments are required and should be made by May 10.

14 THURSDAY

Cardio-Mix with Step: Traditional hi-lo aerobics and step are used to get the heart and legs pumping. Class includes flexibility and abdominal training. Time: 8:00 - 9:00 am Cost: Free to KICA members, $10 per guest.

Body Sculpt: A non-aerobic class that combines free-weight training, stability ball exercises, stretching and balance drills to make gains in strength, tone, flexibility and function. Time: 9:05 - 10:05 am Cost: Free to KICA members, $10 per guest

Zumba®: Instructor Kelly Bragg will lead you through a class that seems more fun than exercise!  Zumba fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind, body energizing workout. Time: 10:00 - 10:55 am Cost: Free to KICA members, $10 per guest

Yoga: An evening yoga class at the Sandcastle from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. All levels are welcome. This is a one-hour, multi-level yoga class that uses a variety of poses to build strength, flexibility, joint integrity, balance, and awareness of breath. Cost: Free to KICA members, $10 per guest

 

15 FRIDAY 

Basic Training: This class consists of 30 minutes of cardio kickboxing, and 30 minutes of core conditioning. Time: 8:00 - 9:00 am Cost: Free to KICA members, $10 per guest.

Cardio-Interval: Cardiovascular and strength training exercises are placed together in this combo class. Formats will vary with intervals of aerobic exercise and strength training. It’s a fun and energizing way to get total body training in just one hour. Time: 9:00 - 10:00 am Cost: Free to KICA members, $10 per guest.

WATER AEROBICS: A great, non-impact alternative to traditional land aerobics, this class will teach you how to optimize the power of water. Ideal for those with post-rehabilitative injuries, arthritis, degenerative disc disease, or who just love to make a splash. Time: 9:30 - 10:30 Cost: Free to KICA members, $10 per guest  Location: Night Heron pool

The Total Package: A class that emphasizes movement, flexibility, core strength and balance. This multi-level class begins with an aerobic warm-up and is followed by strength training, back-friendly exercises, balance, and stretching. Time: 10:30 - 11:30 am Cost: Free to KICA members, $10 per guest

 

16 SATURDAY

Walk, Run, or Roll: 8 a.m.-noon Saturdays in Hampton Park. Park is closed to motor vehicles.

Restorative Yoga: Join our certified yoga instructors for a basic level yoga class that emphasizes flexibility through gentle poses and stretches. Great for all levels and ages! *Please bring a mat. Time: 8:30 - 10:00 am Cost: Free to KICA members, $10 per guest

Weekend Workout: Includes cardiovascular conditioning, strength training, flexibility, balance and abdominal exercises. Be prepared to enhance your coordination through integrating use of a light exercise ball into traditional cardio movements. Time: 10:30 - 11:30 pm Cost: Free to KICA members, $10 per guest

Governor's Club Member Dinner: at Loggerhead

 

17 SUNDAY 

Governor's Club Happy Hour from 4:00 to 11:00 p.m. - at the Lobby Bar

Concert: JazzEd begins at 5 p.m. at Circular Congregational Church, 150 Meeting St. The concert is free. For more information, call 571-7755.
