The Rural Mission Expresses its Appreciation to the Town of Kiawah Island for Grant!

The Rural Mission has been able to reach a great many families in need and improve their lives because thousands of volunteers, young and older, have come to the Sea Islands to serve and to care. They serve with their hands, their hearts and their hard work. To have a productive week with the Mission through the completion of their work goals, they all have a one basic need in common ... tools and equipment necessary for the job.

In July, the Town Council of the Town of Kiawah Island responded to our request for financial assistance to allow the Mission to replace and upgrade some essential equipment. The Town of Kiawah Island has provided a grant of $6,050 for tool replacement and acquisition. These funds will touch and support a great number of persons over the years to come. It is an investment in very low income housing improvements and in youth and adult volunteer workteams and missions.

Identified for purchase are tall, durable ladders, an air compressor for power tool operation, power saws and other handheld equipment that take such a beating from constant use. For the first time, the Mission will be acquiring and outfitting a large enclosed trailer for tool security and for use as a mobile workshop. We are greatly blessed by this donation!
