Kiawah Island ranked fourth in T&L golf communities

Kiawah Island was ranked No. 4 nationally in "Top 100 U.S. Golf Communities" guide by Travel + Leisure Golf magazine. The top 20 communities were ranked in order, and South Carolina had four make that listing.

Florida was the top state with 19 communities ranked, with Arizona and California second with 13 each. South Carolina was fourth overall with 11 communities.

The Cliffs, located in Travelers Rest, was ranked ninth; Palmetto Bluff in Bluffton was 11th; and Colleton River Plantation was No. 16.

Daniel Island Park also made the ranking, along with Belfair, Berkeley Hall, Long Cove, Reserve at Lake Keowee, Sea Pines and Spring Island.

The ratings were based on: golf, quality of housing, community amenities and activities, location and an X-factor (such as celebrity residents or buzz). The list is featured in the January-February issue and also is available online at www.tlgolf.com
