Eagle Information

It is nearly time for "our" eaglet to test its wings for the first time.  To that end, here is some important information for all of you eagle watchers out there:

During the 1st week of fledging the eaglet will also be learning to land on tree limbs. It may find it difficult! If an eaglet  – A VERY LARGE BROWN BIRD WITH MASSIVE YELLOW FEETis on the ground, it may need ‘rescue’. Phone the DNR for immediate ‘rescue’ assistance at 1-800-922-5431. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH THE EAGLET!  Tell the guards immediately so they can cordon off the area.

There is also the risk of vehicle trauma. If an injured eagle is found, phone 843-528-3454, the Rescue Center for Injured Birds of Prey.
