KIAWAH ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - Sea Islands Cooking is inviting people to sample
home cooked recipes from residents throughout Kiawah, Seabrook, Johns and
Wadmalaw islands.
The Sea Islands Cooking Potluck Dinner is being held on March 1 at 6 p.m. at
the Sandcastle Community Center. The event will feature samples of many of
the recipes headed for the pages of the upcoming Sea Islands Cookbook.
Sea Islands Cooking is a group of community leaders from the four Sea
Islands – Kiawah, Seabrook, Johns and Wadmalaw – who are working towards
publishing a cookbook of recipes from throughout the Sea Islands. This
cookbook will include recipes provided by adults and children from all four
islands.
All proceeds, after publishing costs, from the sales of the book, will go
directly to benefit St. John’s High School, Haut Gap Middle School, Angel
Oak Elementary School, Mt. Zion Elementary School and Edith Frierson
Elementary School.
The Sandcastle Community Center is located at 1 Shipwatch Road on Kiawah
Island.
