
PARKING AND TRANSPORTATION GUIDELINE
There are various ways for public spectators, residents and guests of Kiawah Island, as well as guests of the Kiawah Island Golf Resort, to access the 2003 World Golf Championships -World Cup, November 11- 16, 2003. Listed below are various options available for those attending the World Cup.
PUBLIC PARKING
R PRACTICE ROUNDS (Tuesday and Wednesday, November 11th and 12th)
o Parking will be located inside Kiawah Island's main gate at Night Heron Park.
o Follow tournament directional signage to public parking.
o Shuttles will take spectators to the front of The Ocean Course to enter the tournament.
o If you have not purchased tickets prior to the tournament, this is where you park.
R COMPETITION ROUNDS (Thursday- Sunday, November 13th -16th)
o Parking will be located at the front of the island.
o Follow tournament directional signage to public parking-
o Shuttles will take spectators to the front of The Ocean Course to enter the tournament
o If you have not purchased tickets in advance, this is where you park.
RESIDENTS OF KIAWAH ISLAND
R Various shuttle systems will be running inside the front gate of Kiawah Island for residents and guests of the resort. Listed below are the various options available:
v RESIDENTS AND GUESTS LIVING BETWEEN FRONT GATE and VANDERHORST GATE:
· Parking is available at Night Heron Park (Lot 4).
· Shuttles will take residents and guests to the front of The Ocean Course.
v RESIDENTS AND GUESTS LIVING BEHIND THE VANDERHORST GATE:
· The Governors Drive Shuttle will operate along Governors Drive one hour prior to the opening gate hours each day and run continuously until 5:00 p.m., Tuesday -Sunday. The designated pick-up/drop off points, which will be marked, are at the following locations:
· Corner of Surf song Road and Governors Drive
· Corner of Flyaway Drive and Governors Drive
· Corner of Glossy Ibis Lane and Governors Drive
· Corner of Ocean Marsh Road and Governors Drive
GUESTS OF KIAWAH ISLAND RESORT (Inn and Villas)
R Guests that are staying at the Resort will be able to call on demand shuttle vans from Kiawah Island to take them to the front of The Ocean Course.
R This is the normal procedure for guests of the Resort.
DISABLED PARKING
R Disabled parking for all spectators, including residents of the island, will be at a designated location at Night Heron Park (Lot 4). This parking is available Tuesday through Sunday of tournament week.
R Shuttles will take spectators to the front of The Ocean Course to enter the tournament.
R A designated handicap sticker will need to be displayed to access this area.
PROHIBITED ITEMS
R NO cellular phones -please DO NOT bring cellular phones. All cellular phones will be confiscated and left at Lost and Found, which is located at the Welcome Pavilion.
R NO cameras or camcorders (except for the practice rounds, Tuesday and Wednesday, November 11th and 12th). Only authorized members of the media with proper credentials may carry cameras on the tournament days. During tournament rounds, cameras and videos will be confiscated and left at Lost and Found.
R NO radios, PDA's, and other electronic devices. All pagers must be on vibrate.
R NO firearms or explosive devices.
R NO signs or banners, food, beverages or coolers, large folding chairs, or step ladders of any kind.
