Freshfields Village, the sea islands shopping and dining destination at the crossroads of Kiawah, Seabrook and Johns Islands, recently gained or soon will add three new upscale merchants.

Apparel companies J. McLaughlin and Leggiadro are joining Kiawah Fine Jewelry as the newest tenants.

Both J. McLaughlin and Leggiadro already have a presence and customer base in the area, having previously operated on King Street in downtown Charleston. J. McLaughlin added its second store earlier this month at Freshfields, while Leggiadro will close its King Street location and relocate to Freshfields on Friday.

Kiawah Fine Jewelry is an affiliate of Kay's Fine Jewelry, which operated exclusively in Aruba, St. Maarten and St. Kitts until now. It plans to open in July.

Also at Freshfields, La Tela Pizzeria, which opened two years ago, is expanding by adding a full bar, lounge area and more dining room seating.
