February 29, 2008 Week-end Edition
It is sunny and a bit warmer on Kiawah this morning.
Happy Leap Year Day! What will you do with your extra day
this year? Read a book? Learn something new? The possibilities are
endless. It is a fabulous morning on Kiawah - perhaps even Mother
Nature and all her critters are aware of the “free day” too!
Island News: The Kiawah Island Property Owner's Group (KPOG) will
hold it's annual meeting this Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at the Sandcastle. State
Senator Glenn McConnell and Kiawah Island Golf Resort President Roger Warren
will be the guest speakers.
Week-end Weather: It is 48 degrees at 9:15 Friday morning. February is
getting it's last licks in, and reminding us that it is winter after all! Highs
Friday in the upper fifties, lows in the upper forties with a 20% chance of rain.
The high should hit the upper sixties on Saturday, with a low in the
mid-forties. The high Sunday is supposed to be in the mid-sixties, the low
in the mid-forties.

It is sunny on Kiawah this morning, but don't let the
sunshine fool you! It is downright chilly outside! It certainly seems
that we all need to dig out the sweaters again. But temperatures
are supposed to head back up after tomorrow, hitting the upper sixties
by the week-end. Will March come in like a lion?

It is overcast on Kiawah is this morning, but fairly
warm already. The sun should make an appearance later this afternoon
and chase away our gray skies.
Did you manage any time outside this week-end? Loads of people got out to
enjoy the bike paths, the golf courses, and the tennis courts. Still not too
many people on the beach though...
Weather: It is 51 degrees at 9:10 this morning. Though there are
clouds in Kiawah's skies just now, there is no rain predicted for today. Highs in the low sixties, lows in the low

Kiawah is cloudy and drizzly this morning. It
looks like we have a wet beginning to our week-end, but the rain
should clear out sometime Saturday, leaving us with some fairly warm
temperatures on Sunday. Will you get outside to play this

complete eclipse, but the earlier portion visible to Kiawah was
spectacular! Check back later today for photos of last night's
lunar eclipse.

Kiawah is sunny this morning, with a slight chill in
the air. It should be a perfect day to be outside, and this evening
should be warm enough to enjoy the lunar eclipse. Grab your
camera and head out to see it!
Astronomy 101: Tonight is the Full Snow Moon. It gets it's
name because the heaviest snow usually falls during this month, so
native tribes of the north and east most often called it the
Full Snow Moon. Some tribes also referred to this Moon as the Full
Hunger Moon, since harsh weather conditions in their areas made
hunting very difficult. We get a bonus tonight, as there is a
lunar eclipse around 10:00 p.m.

February 19, 2008
Once again we have sunshine on Kiawah this morning.
Mid-February and our island is warm and sunny. Now who can
complain about that?
Some folks were disappointed with yesterday morning's
rain, but the island really needed it! Spring will be here soon,
and our plants and animals could use the water.

Kiawah is gray and rainy this morning, but at least
it is a bit warmer. Strong winds began last night, and continue to
blow across the island. It looks like we will have quite a mess
on our hands when the rain stops - palm fronds, branches, and leaves
are already scattered everywhere.
Though the rain has arrived, the week-end was quite
nice. Many folks were out & about on the bike paths, riding,
walking, and running, while golfers took advantage of the fabulous
weather to get in a few mid-winter rounds.

still a little chilly. The chill is nothing like what the Northern
climes are seeing, and will soon be gone. President's Day
week-end looks like yet another lovely warm one! How will you
celebrate?

Kiawah is sunny and bright this morning, but cold!

Luckily the temperature today should be in the upper fifties, so we
won't be too chilly.

It is overcast on Kiawah this morning, but we have no
rain right now. We did receive some showers last night however.
And thank goodness for that! Due to the exceptionally warm
weather we have been having lately, some folks on the island have been
suffering from winter allergies. The rain washed away a good bit of
pollen last night, so hopefully they will get a bit of a break.

not. Will we get one more day of sunshine before the rain?
