July 31,
2006
Kiawah is mostly cloudy this morning. The sun is valiantly peeking out between the clouds though, and seems
determined to win the day. Do you think if we all head outside to play we
could convince the sun to stick around?

July 21,
2006 Week-end Edition
It is sunny and humid on Kiawah this morning.
We are certainly in the midst of the
summer doldrums - hot and sticky, with nary a breeze to spare. The
poem below seems
quite appropriate! Hope you enjoy it.
House Blessing
Bless this house, oh Lord, we cry.
Please keep it cool in late July.
Bless the walls where termites dine.
While ants and roaches march in time.
Bless our yard where spiders pass
Fire ant castles in the grass.
Bless the garage, a home to please
Carpenter beetles, ticks and fleas.
Bless the love bugs, two by two,
Gnats and mosquitoes that feed on you.
Millions of creatures that fly or crawl,
South Carolina, Lord, has them all.
But this is home and here we'll stay,
So thank you, Lord, for insect spray!
Where are you?
Cyndie Mynatt already knows! But can you guess where she took
this photo? Hint: it is behind the Vanderhorst Gate. Do you have a photo you would like to share? Click

July 20,
2006
Kiawah is partly sunny this morning, and it
is VERY humid. No doubt this is due to the 20% chance of rain today.
The island is still packed with
vacationers, but soon they will be but a memory. School begins in 3
weeks (already?) and the vacationers will be headed home soon to prepare.
Doesn't it seem that they barely arrived and Memorial Day was just here?
Summer certainly moves quickly here in the Lowcountry.

turtle?
