September 28, 2007 Week-end Edition
It is gorgeous and sunny on Kiawah this morning. Here we are at
the end of another week... for that matter, at the end of another
month! Hard to believe that September is nearly gone. Soon
it will be time to start thinking about Halloween parties and such.
Are you ready for fall?
Did you know? Saturday, September 29, is Family Health
and Fitness Day! Try trading time spent in front of the TV or computer
for a family walk. Why? Walking is one of the easiest and least
expensive ways to combat obesity and illness.

Kiawah is beautiful and sunny this morning. Despite the predictions,
we did not receive any rain yesterday, just a fabulous warm, sunny
day. It appears that today will be another wonderful day. Will
you be able to get outside to play today?
Weather: It is 74 degrees at 8:55 a.m. this morning. It should be
a lovely day again today. Look for a high in the mid-eighties
with a 20% chance of rain. The low tonight is supposed to be in the low seventies.

It is a bit overcast on Kiawah this morning. We have a slight
chance of showers today, and there is a coastal flood advisory until
10:00 a.m. this morning. Perhaps we should all figure out where
our umbrellas are?
Folks on the island this week may have
noticed seeing an increase in the number of deer that are out &
about. Fawns are traveling with their mothers, and with fewer
visitors, the deer are more prone to be around. PLEASE drive
carefully. We like to watch Kiawah's deer frolicking about, so
let's keep them alive to play another day!
Island News: Charleston County has scheduled two public
meetings in the next few weeks to discuss proposed road projects on
Johns Island. The first meeting is tonight from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00
p.m. at the Berkeley Electric Cooperative, Inc. Community Center,
3351 Maybank Highway. The Maybank Highway Widening project
will be discussed. All interested persons are encouraged to attend.

Kiawah is covered with sunshine this morning.
There is just one word for Kiawah this
morning...gorgeous! A light breeze is blowing and it is nice and cool
outside. It looks like once again it will be the perfect "get outside
and play day". What fun thing are you going to treat yourself to
today?

It is sunny and gorgeous on Kiawah this morning.
It looks to be a marvelous day today,
with plenty of sunshine. How will you celebrate this terrific
weather? Tennis? Golf? A long bike ride? Whatever your choice,
today is sure to be a good day for it!
The week-end turned out not to be wet much at all, so folks were out &
about enjoying the sunshine.
Kemp's Ridley Sea Turtles
Last Friday September 21st, the South Carolina Aquarium released two
Kemp's Ridley sea turtles from Beachwalker Park on Kiawah Island.

September 21, 2007 Week-end Edition
Kiawah is overcast this morning, and warmer than the past few
mornings. The week-end may begin a bit wet, but we should glimpse
sunshine by Saturday afternoon. By Sunday the clouds should be
gone, and we should all be outside to play!
Island News: If the weather holds, the South Carolina Aquarium
will be releasing not one, but TWO sea turtles from Beachwalker Park
this afternoon at 4:45 p.m. See you on the beach!

Friday morning. The high Friday is supposed to be in the mid-eighties,
the low in the mid-seventies, both with a 50% chance of showers.
Saturday brings temperatures in the mid-eighties with a 40% chance of
rain. We should see low seventies Saturday night, with a 20%
chance of showers. Last but not least, Sunday is supposed to

It is cool and sunny on Kiawah this morning. Once again
Mother Nature is teasing us with a brief glimpse of fall weather.
It is just cool enough at night to fling open the windows and let in
some fresh air. We should have one or two more nights of this
before returning to September temperatures and a bit of humidity.
Island News: The Charleston County School District and
Communities In Schools, in partnership with the Neighborhood Learning
Center of the Church of Our Saviour, hosts an open house today from
4:00 - 5:30 pm at the church (4166 Betsy Kerrison Parkway).
School District officials will outline tutoring, mentoring and other
volunteer opportunities available at each school this coming year.

September 14, 2007 Week-end Edition
It is overcast on Kiawah this morning. It is a bit cooler, but still
fairly humid. We experienced another light show last night, and
far more rain than Wednesday evening. No one will have to water
the plants on the deck today, that's for certain!
Island News: This Sunday, September 16th, the 14th annual
Kiawah Island Triathlon will be held on Kiawah beginning at 7:30 a.m.
The race staging, start, and finish will be at the Beachwalker Park.
No roads, beach paths or beach areas will be completely closed or
blocked. However, there may be short delays on the streets
for the safety of the triathletes. The Charleston Triathlon Club will
work with association security and the local police to insure that any
delay or inconvenience is minimal. You may contact Mike Loggins, Race

It is sunny on Kiawah this morning. We have yet another amazing day to
enjoy!
The week-end was glorious, with absolutely ZERO of the predicted
possibility of showers. Beachgoers seemed unaware of the demise
of summer as they frolicked in the surf and on the beach. The
bike paths were curiously empty however.
