March 30, 2007 Week-end Edition
Kiawah is partly sunny this morning, and much cooler than recent
mornings. But March didn't live up to its legend this year...
"in like a lion, out like a lamb". We didn't have the fierce
winds that usually blow March into being, though we are having a
fairly mild end. Can you believe it is nearly April?
Last Chance... to make your reservations for the KICA Sunset
Cruise! Friday March 30th is the last day to reserve your spot
for the April 12th cruise on the Island Breeze. Visit the

week-end in store for us than our last. Friday's high is

Kiawah is magnificent and sunny this morning. The flowers on the
island seem to be celebrating spring, as they burst forth with their
showy blossoms and colors. If you look closely, you can see the
native wildflowers displaying their more modest offerings. Is
there anything more beautiful than Kiawah in the springtime?
Weather: It is 64 degrees

today in the low seventies,
lows tonight near sixty.

by a fine mist of yellow dust. Cars, leaves, potted plants - nothing
is exempt!

March 20, 2007
Kiawah is mostly sunny this morning. We
have a wonderful spring day on the way - without the rain!
This is the time of year when our lovely live oaks
become the scourge of Kiawah gardeners. March's "lion" winds have
scattered the dead leaves everywhere. And except for an hour or two
when the yard looks nice, raking does not do much good! The leaves
just seem to keep coming down. On the other hand, the Bradford pear
trees certainly look beautiful with their white blossoms bursting out
all over.

Kiawah is cloudy this morning, with just a wee bit
of showers falling. Though today will still be warm, we are headed
into a MUCH cooler week-end. Today's rain is bringing cooler
temperatures, but at least it is supposed to stop by Saturday, just in
time for
KICA's Celebrate Kiawah! party.

Kiawah is partly sunny this morning, as the sun
tries to peek out between the clouds. Every so often the leaves on the
trees are illuminated by golden light - and then the sun ducks back
behind the clouds.
Yesterday it seemed that everyone who was on

blades...there were even a few intrepid swimmers down by The Beach

Kiawah's Shore Birds Marilyn Blizard reminds us that giving
space to our migrating shorebirds is extremely important. Some
are near death as they rest or feed here before a long flight. We give
them much benefit from not disrupting them.
